strange: today have run ubuntu 11.04 cd , clicked "try ubuntu" , has logged in classic gnome designed desktop!
remember did log in new desktop.
has tried change date may 6 in bios , boot again, same.
the new unity desktop needs accelerated 3d graphics card, computer has not. open source driver nvidia has no 3d acceleration, if have nvidia graphics adapter computer boots classical desktop.
imho bad ubuntu way frightens new users away, bug#1 (put ms out of first position on desktop) not solved way ...
