i thinking while ago, know how have workspaces? doesn't technically mean can possibly have larger virtual resolutions our monitors support , we're doing panning across it?
also, have max of 256 (16x16) workspaces (somewhere in compiz saw setting dealt 32x32 workspaces) guess max virtual resolution 30720x17280. it's not smooth, in fact it's slow use many, mean it's there feature, , maybe someday every computer use smoothly.
considering can still display many pixels @ time, don't think counts. not mention work spaces more of way of grouping windows providing additional screen.
