trying cyberghost working on ubuntu laptop. running 11.04 , using "network connections" dialog in gnome "configure vpn". have openvpn plugin installed , using information provided cyberghost
i connecting vpn server, unable browse internet. using "free service" test out.configuration on ubuntu gnome
comfortably configure openvpn settings might want install network-manager-openvpn using synaptic.
open menu click on network manager icon. move vpn conncetion , add new connection.
choose openvpn , set followign settings, alternatively import config file directly (username.ovpn):
choose name new vpn connection.
insert gateway on tab vpn. available gateways are: de.openvpn.cyberghostvpn.com, us.openvpn.cyberghostvpn.com, nl.openvpn.cyberghostvpn.com, ch.openvpn.cyberghostvpn.com , ua.openvpn.cyberghostvpn.com.
please choose type: password , certificate (tls)
enter cyberghost vpn username.
enter cyberghost vpn password.
choose user certificate zip file. begins cyberghost username extension .crt
choose ca.crt zip file.
choose private key zip file. filename cyberghost username followed .key extension.
there more settings on advanced settings:
gateway port have 9081
activate lzo compression
activate use custom tunnel maximum transmission unit (mtu) , set 1500
activate use custom udp fragment size , set 1300
enable restrict tunnel tcp maximum segment size (mss)
change cipher under security aes-128-cbc
know how working? potential problem be? or close alternatives? (a free/trial vpn can connect using no client, gnome)
