i trying change default text file opening application leafpad right clicking text file > open with.. > other application > leafpad "remember application" checked. however, gedit remains default text file opener. please help.
usually way change default application through ubuntu tweak
try downloading here if want: http://ubuntu-tweak.com/
once installed, should see in list on left under "system" entry called "file type manager". clicking on give list of file types , associated default software. can try changing there , see if works.
