i have laptop , external monitor. external monitor phisically right of laptop on desk. external monitor default monitor. grandr , arandr (xrandr gui) not help.
vga1 - external monitor, lvds1 - laptop monitor.
xrandr --output vga1 --mode 1280x1024 --pos 1280x0
xrandr --output lvds1 --mode 1280x1024 --pos 0x0
these commands set external monitor right 1280 pixels. assume monitor positioned @ 0x0 main monitor. how set vga1 default or how position lvds1 left minus 1280 pxs?
please help!
i'm unsure how technology has come along since beginning of 2010, trying impossible task. laptops, @ least had been told, won't let default different monitor outside of it's own monitor that's attached it, , override attemp @ doing so.posted kalpinsh

no other reason that's way is, or sort of fool-proofing, in can't change default monitor 1 day, forget, , grab laptop , go somewhere realize (when it's far late) default monitor @ home.
