Is it possible to skew a radial gradient?

i have oval , want radial gradient (if makes sense). possible this? , if so, how go so?

i'm not sure if radial gradients conform shape in. example if made radial gradient in star. 1 thing try make circle, put radial gradient in conforms circle. break object apart , group of contents individual pieces of geometry gradient , bend ellipse. see if works. it's thought have not tried or troubleshot myself.
