i've started upgrade 1.7.3 sites latest 2.5.6 versions.
as safety net i've been using akeeba live site i've installed on local machine running xampp 1.7.4.
i upgrade site version 2.5.6 (which upgrades fine) , hey presto new upgraded site works fine on localhost (both frontend , backend)
the problems start when:
1. backend advises there new version of akeeba, download & install.
2. when click on akeeba make backup of site, huge warning advising me have outdated php , need upgrade php 5.3.
3. akeeba still makes up, ftp across live server.
4. use akeeba kickstart install backup file.
5. site frontend works perfectly, can't log in backend! login page, once insert user , password goes blank page (in firefox) , server error "http error 500" (in chrome)
i'm assuming it's php , 2.5.6 joomla, don't know need put right.
i've not changed xampp version, because in past later versions of xampp caused problems joomla.
any idea of how can logged backend or i'm going wrong?
thanks.
