windows 8 planned have touch friendly tiled gui interchangable classic gui. guess might major breakthrough. ms put classic interface default on desktops, laptops , netbooks , tiled interface in tablets/ slates. on top of this, users able change either way want, on both desktops/ laptops , tablets. don,t know of other os in wild gives users such incredible option. if see video can notice classic interface running right underneath tiled interface , seems easy access files/ folders in manner access them in windows classic explorer. great option non-existant in rival oses( android n ios). suspect if used same interface options, in future, see every other laptop/ netbook coming touch screen, can used tablet if user likes so.
worried how ubuntu going address it. apple has touch based version of os- ios. ubuntu adopt similar approach ms , put dual gui in os can used on touch based devices invery near future. ofcourse don,t need mention need more light current state tablet friendly os.
other option have separate standalone os version touch devices/ tablets ios.
guys think?
windows 8 supposed released in 2012. then, oneiric out, , unity customizable , stable. bet windows have fledgling unity on hands though...
think stable oneiric unity seem lot more appealing first release of new tile-thingy.
edit: also, flicking left switch applications seems alt-tab, isn't efficient (this opinion). admittedly, support kind of finger motion show launcher should made oneiric...
