Can't insert images to articles ! New to Joomla - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi, need help.
i can no longer insert images articles.

initial situation
had problems using media manager create new image folders.

also wanted simple player have mp3's on site.
uploaded mp3 in folder in ' images' didn't work, deleted folder filezila.

used filezila create new image folders.
return front end , of images had gone.
used filezila restore image original folders.
the pics visible on frontend

current situation

when pressing insert tab tab opens image icon follows: pics no longer appear small thumbnails, file name , size( see attached file.)


if select image insert in article image url follows
images///xxxx.2numbers/my ftp login/www/and image name (can't remember seeing before)

stuck ! can sort out ?

08 21 12 update !
seems bad idea create folders using filezila , move images around .
have uploaded , started using jce editor.
with file browser included in jce editor can see image files , status !
some have 'invalid file or folder name'. though still appear in articles.
guess have clean mess !

the thumb nail view shows image in previous post. clicking on image 'an error occured' message.

using detailed view not found requested url ......... not found on server message

don't know if image helps : there 2 'stories' folders...
