nope. files in "/dev" virtual files, representative of hardware in computer. eg, /dev/sr0 refers optical drive, /dev/sda hard drive, etc.

typically, cannot "read" such files unless underlying hardware trying send information. (eg, ir receiver reporting ir codes).
