Thread: Installing ath9k driver on HP with Atheros AR9285


hello everyone, pretty new ubuntu , trying aircrack-ng , airmon-ng recognize wifi card atheros ar9285.

when type airmon-ng get:

interface    chipset        driver  wlan0        unknown        unknown (monitor mode not supported)
i have downloaded compat-wireless-2011-06-01 , have ran:

./scripts/driver-select ath9k apparently didnt install driver tried:

make
make install

thought did , after restarting airmon-ng still shows interface , driver unknown, know why ?
appreciate help.

have hp dv-6 2144nr
