yesterday got update in update-manager: gdm blabla 3.2... installed. restarted. , see nooooooooooooothing after boot screen (plymouth, default one) display stays blank, caps-lock doesn't turn on indicator on keyboard.
hdd activity indicator on laptop doesn't blink, power indicator on...
way press , hold power button turn off.
restart , see same picture........
thought that's hdd, because yesterday ubuntu froze on youtube video (adobe hate you!)
turned laptop off , started again (before froze installed gdm "security-"update) , saw blank screen first time.
booted "single" mode, manually starting x or gdm gives me same blank screen frozen/unusable keyboard, caps-, numlock not word, can't switch virtual terminals...
i've reinstalled whole system hour ago. went well!!!!
booted clean 11.04 (except configs, cuz haven't formated /home partition). restored ppa's (/etc/apt) backed 'single' mode... updated apt database, restored of backuped apps (dpkg --get-selections >... dpgk --set-selections <...)
hour update everything. installed ati driver, restart, , see? blank screen right after plymouth.
startx single mode = blank screen
gdm start single mode = blank screen
can't use ubuntu, please me fixing crap.
downloaded yesterday gdm blabla3, blabla3.1 , blabla3.2
downgraded crapped gdm-0ubuntu3.2 3 , 3.1 no difference. blank screen.
before restoring apps worked.

there absolutely no errors in /var/log/*
viewed every file dir, created @ boot attempt...
no errors, nothing, blank screen
sorry hear man. gdm's update messed boot too. booted me classic had go forcing unity on boot.
can boot live cd, mount hdd , disable ati drivers please , reboot.
