New To Joomla, Social Links? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hey all,

i new joomla, nice me

on works website, trying incorporate social icons main page, under search bar, want link facebook icon (for example) our facebook page , g+ icon our google+ page.

i've come ip.board have created simple html block , how wanted it, in joomla, i'm bit lost how this, there equivalent ipb's block joomla?

to create html block, joomla uses modules.

in admin, go modules , create new.
choose custom html
this should put in familiar territory.

be sure activate , assign location on template position want
the module appear. modules have left , right, others have odd position names.
you may have review , learn positions template has place module.

in templates, go extension/template manager , enable preview module positions
if add ?tp=1 after http://www.yourdomain.com/index.php?tp=1
you see positions of template.
