hello quite while ago installed ubuntu 11.04 , have have had share of issues concerning rendering graphics , effects in general today installed gnome 3 hoping them stop. reason when select unity 3d login menu system doesnt boot , redirects me login menu. figured there wrong h/w.. tried out of other options , saw there no diference between them (ubuntu, ubuntu classic , on..) appear same same problems.
think there must problem installation of of cant figure out :/

of issues facing right : no desktop (cant click , see icons), no window manager, black spots appearing when popups show (possibly rendering problem here)

unity runs on top of gnome 2.xx . if have installed gnome 3 , unity no longer work . of instructions have seen installing gnome 3 make clear. there no way revert gnome 2.xx without reinstalling.
