has tried install joomla on heroku or openshift ?
i did little research , openshift looks better because ssh access. been playing wordpress on heroku , painful lot of folder permission issues, since heroku not give write access. openshift easier, , provide automatic installation wp , drupal. maybe joomla supported out of box in future.
the free instance give small apps interesting.
