Duplicate joomla based site on xampp - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i have xampp installed , using joomla create website running locally

i want use original site base , create duplicate copy tweak , develop further. want both run on xampp , both use joomla able access both sites , develop both independently

any suggestions of how this?

backup existing site using akeeba.

create new directory within xampp/htdocs , use kickstart restore area.
kickstart copy on joomla files , db , set db parameters specify within kickstart.
