Thread: Recover files from encrypted home using Extundelete?

i've been using extundelete 2.0 "undelete" files off of main ubuntu partition.
now, however, trying perform operation on main, encrypted, home dir.
not entirely if need decrypt if, if do, how can i?

merely unlocks folder while it's partition mounted, correct?

extundelete requires part's unmounted not overwrite data... should need unlock home dir if checks journal , restores inodes, moves data new folder in current working dir?

situation not life or death, mentioned files not of utmost importance restored, nevertheless recover them, if possible.
if can offer answer of questions, well-appreciated.
