Thread: Natty is not starting

hello,

today i've upgraded maverick installation natty using "do-release-upgrade" command. upgrade completed according tool, after rebooted system , chose "ubuntu, linux 2.6.38-8-generic" in grub screen went black showing blinking underscore , rebooted after approx. 5 seconds.
when entered safe boot environment last thing system did before rebooting attaching scsi devices didn't show error message.
same (successfull) clean installation desktop-cd , alternate-cd on clean hdd.
after upgraded still had access "previous linux versions" option in grub, when started maverick kernel system displayed blinking underscore 30 minutes - until shut off. in safe boot environment of old kernel "failsafe x" option resulted in blinking underscore again.
happens final version, happened alpha , beta versions.
ubuntu os on pc.
tried gnome version of ubuntu, try use xubuntu now.

way: have pentium 4 ht, 2 gib of ram , pci 2.3 based amd/ati radeon 4350 hd in dell dimension 3100 if helps.

can please me pc working again?

update: same thing occured me when tried booting xubuntu cd in both live mode , installation mode.
suppose should try linux mint now…
