Is system update right for me?

i'm trying determine whether should upgrade new system. i'm start editing independent feature length film project in month. i'm switching adobe premiere pro cs6.   i have 2 x 2.8 ghz quad-core intel xeon (early 2008) mac pro have been editing final cut pro 7 on.   i wasn't wanting move laptop - hoping new imacs @ wwdc 2012.   waiting longer not can @ point if i'm going start new project on new system. however, after looking @ geekbench numbers comparing current macpro setup 27" current imacs, i'm not seeing huge increase in numbers. realistic way me @ this? should not bother upgrading @ all? there big benefits geekbench isn't showing me?   one thing know current macpro processors not support hyper-threading or turboboost or that. also, graphics card lacking gpu acceleration many new apps take advantage of. these items alone enough justify update when using premiere pro cs6, photoshop, , after effects?   thanks!
