accessing files on file server via intranet - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi all

i'm developing intranet site company, , need display contents of file shares create document library.

i know can done if synchronise folders webserver, seems massive waste of bandwidth , server resources.

i have read through forums , links in articles works, has not worked me, file:// wont work.

the general consensus on either near impossible or impossible boss , can not accept html supports file:// method

can please advise of way or module can us.
