Thread: 5.1 on Intel HDA ICH7 Asus P5L-MX, Front audio on all channels


i'm running bone stock mythbuntu 11.04 install on p5l-mx intel hda ich7, i'm trying output analog 5.1 each of ports outputting front audio signal simultaneously, when run speaker-test hear "front left" , "front right" on channels @ same time , hear nothing on channel when goes test other channels.

checked alsamixer , showed indeed have front, surround, side , center/sub sliders, volume on all, digital out turned off, there doesn't appear option 6ch mode, thought odd.

in addition, front panel jacks don't seem work, not problem application, possible symptom.

haven't had chance try out yet, wanted see if else has experienced , solved same problem , has other suggestions can try when home.

still no luck after working way through troubleshooting guide. still have front audio on channels , left , right flipped. adjusting sliders or muting non-front channels nothing. here's alsa file generated in troubleshooting process.

not sure how long hosted figure out what's wrong here.

tried changing model few different possibilities nothing seems working better. .asoundrc above didn't problem.

i'm not sure can go here, have suggestions?
