hi there, fellows.
we've been working on solution consolidate multiple joomla! websites 1 single joomla! / mysql instance.
these requirements:
- single joomla! folder;
- single mysql database;
- websites content should not shared, mean users of each website should access own content, menus, profiles, , on.
- shared plugins, modules , extensions though users of each website shall not able share or publish content other websites.
- despite sites stored in single database , share same files folder shall resolve respective domains. eg.: www.domain.com/site1 (site 1 instance 1) - www.domain.com/site2 (site 2 instance 1)
- permissions , acl should not shared between websites.
- super administrator shall able data sites.
i'd know if that's feasible , how effort necessary accomplish task.
also, in opinion, pros , cons regarding hybrid architecture?
thank in advance.

short answer, wont work. dont see why want this, far better of looking apache virtual hosts , having each site under own home directory seperate databases. describing security nightmare if somehow got work.
long answer:
- single joomla! folder;
a) single folder sites means users need permissions on it... wont work either config files wont match sites.
- single mysql database;
a) think can share database long each site uses different db prefix (see above re. config file not matching sites). because can doesnt mean should i.e. security problem sites access each others tables.
- websites content should not shared, mean users of each website should
a) access own content, menus, profiles, , on.
no idea how if share 1 joomla folder???
- shared plugins, modules , extensions though users of each website shall a) not able share or publish content other websites.
contents (not images) stored in db might work pictures lumped together.
- despite sites stored in single database , share same files folder shall resolve respective domains. eg.: www.domain.com/site1 (site 1 instance 1) - www.domain.com/site2 (site 2 instance 1)
a) apache virtual hosts, think trying do. bit confused question, seem imply sites on same domain in different folders???
- permissions , acl should not shared between websites.
a) think thats in db feasible blow in face.
- super administrator shall able data sites.
a) maybe possbile load of acl config rest.
