Master page for first page of chapter?

i want make sure using right approach.

 

i have 150 page book 12 chapters. of pages in book have page number , running heads chapter name @ top of page. working ok. 12 pages start chapter, don't want running head @ top - page number appears @ bottom of page.

 

master pages, right? started pages "a" pages , assigned 12 pages beginning of chapter "b" pages. looks great.

 

but project manager comes along , asks me try book in 12 point instead of 11 point. edit few paragraph styles. repaginates, , have find 12 places chapter starts, change "a" "b" master page, find old 12 pages started chapter , change them "b" "a".

 

every time freaking changes mind, fixing 24 pages (ok - 22 pages, since first page stays in place). missing obvious - there way "every time there chapter title paragraph style, page should assigned "b" master style?".  realize use indb 12 indd files inside, seems overkill small book.

i think there scripts floating around here onthe forum assigne master based on paragraph style, personal approach break document individual stories (not different docs, different text threads, each story) each chapter. if that, editing effects confined last page in each chapter.
