Thread: squid needs restart if Internet outage

i have squid3 proxy server set on ubuntu 10.04 client machine.
internet connection way of adsl modem/router.
connection drops out , after modem automatically connects back, squid needs restarted or users cannot access internet.
there setting in conf file can change behaviour ?
rather interestingly, if use old modem / router, doesn't happen. internet can drop out , reconnect squid carries on without needing restart.
i've re-installed squid3 same.
