some elementary questions

now have sorted out problem jerky playback ( buying heavy duty pc) have started serious editing have come across 2 issues

 

1  when editing video how go beginning. can fast rewind or go previous edit surely there way of instantly going start

 

2  how edit 1 track without affecting parallel track . @ present when play around addinga soundtrack left gaps on video , audio tracks. pressing delete , close gap not have effect.

#1 - hit home key. go end of timeline, hit end key. pageup & pagedn step on through timeline, 1 clip (on track), @ time.

 

#2 - there no track locking in pre, 1 needs aware, edits made clips, "covered" other clips, not behave, 1 might plan, such clicking on clip, , choosing delete , close gap. best way handle this, workflow. not music videos, edit video (and muxed audio camera) first, , add soundtrack.
