Thread: display/modify the encoding of a text file

hi there,

know how display , modify encoding of text file kwrite. instance modify "iso-8859-15" "utf-8". here 2 questions:

1. can gedit modify encoding well? how?
2. can display/modify encoding without text editor? there simple way? maybe linux command?
