sites seem to be linked - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi, have built new website using joomla 2.5 installed in sub directory called "silverpearl" in root of server along side of old "live 1.5" site. when came time rid of old site , make new site live, deleted files "live" directory, copied files new site "silverpearl" directory made changes config file , seemed work fine. decided keep original installation of new site in "silverpearl" directory in tact use test site before making changes new "live" site. yesterday when decided try things out, made changes site in "silverpearl" directory , mirrored on live site. have idea why happening when 2 sites in different directories? , also, when delete test directory live site going break? many thanks, mark

while files in each of directories different, both referring , calling same mysql database. make them different, want set separate mysql database "testing" site.
