hey all! have weird idea that's slipped noggin' , won't let go. it's new interface - way interact system via touch or mouse, have no programming skills, no prior experience other being repair tech , geek of life , have no idea go this...
there place in community share new ideas release them wild , let programmers have @ it? think it'd interesting see developed. believe it'd amazingly beautiful , simple interface, allowed great depth , complexity @ same time.
information appreciated (and if spot i've been looking for, i'll post here , in new thread)

in hopes able direct me on toss idea...it goes this:
hive-style tile set of icons covering desktop (or in part).
each tile has 6 sides...when depressed, tile explodes (raises up), enlarges , displays 6 more tiles around it, more options.
example, have tile marked "office" , depress it.
"office" enlarged primary focus on screen , 6 more tiles surround it, "calc" "impress" "draw" "math" "writer" , "dictionary"
of may touched (clicked) bring said program.
idea minimizing/maximizing items utilize standard program title bars , x [] _ buttons. however, minimizing shrink program tile came from, making root tile (in above example, "office") glow. touching root tile bring other tiles, 1 active , minimized, glowing. touching 1 show mini-tile windows of each process of program running (think windows preview in hex format).
think concept may challenging (especially when add idea of 3d, ball of hex tiles can shrunk down out of way when not in use, etc) think effect , flexibility allowed user (considering each tile shortcut or menu+sub-menus) worth it.
basically, allow user either dump shortcuts hive, custom sort them groups, or sub-groups, utilizing little or space desired, dependent upon personal preferences.
setup this, example, toss important daily programs use individual tile-shortcuts. rest of them, set in array of menu groupings no sub-menus (i hate sub-menus).
menus requiring more 6 places, see hive tiles growing more tiles needed. ergo, instead of 6 tiles around center one, have 6 plus more added onto base six, expanding outward in ring. if sounds confusing, can try draw mock-up of i'm trying explain.
so, guys think? crazy? genius? waste of bandwidth?
decide.
cheers,
