Thread: Formatting a Partition as NTFS

i have external hdd split 3 partitions.

1 main ubuntu partition, contains ubuntu goodies , /home folder(s). obviously, ext4.

second 1 ntfs on have files use both ubuntu , windows.

third 1 quite small (3.5 gb) formatted ext3 (or maybe ext4 - not sure). originally, had planned home partition, that's way out of date now.

so, because i'm using storage capacity bl00dy fast, i'd reformat third partition ntfs, windows can see files put on there.

obviously, cannot in windows, because windows can't see partition @ all. need in ubuntu. how?

(i have feeling gparted might answer, using makes me horribly nervous!)

you can use partition editor -- it's not installed default anymore.

once install it, ensure partition want manipulate not mounted.
