Gzip page compression option not work/ destroys website. . - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

when try enable gzip compression global configuration, try open website, website shows have attached preview in attachment.

strange. characters. if server not support answer no. support because when try enable adding code in index.php "<?php ob_start("ob_gzhandler"); ?>", works.
but enable option gzip page compression global configuration, destroys page , whenever disable it, site normal.

any expert can help. please????
i want use option.

i suggest first check have zlib activated in global configuration. server may support gzip, however, still may have enable zlib
