hope named topic aptly. i'm pretty new whole up/downsampling technique thing. in years of web design, never had real need of it.
however, ran following scenario:
we have big ps file full of pixel art & photographs, of both smart objects. we'd resize bunch of them, need bicubic some, nearest-neighbor others.
is there way set sampling techniques each smart object?
(if not, 1 post feature requests? ;d)
cheers!
first need know th smart objects not created equal. embedded smart object copy of "photoshop" can photoshop supports. raw raw settings, psd file, layer, layer set etc. smart objects can resized 2 ways.
the first way re adjust transform associated smart object layer (ctrl/command+t). transform believe uses user id photoshop preference interpolation. when smart object resized way photoshop first renders pixels smart object resize pixels raster layer using default interpolation method. if embedded smart object vector or text graphic. guess set photoshop preference interpolation before doing each transform.
the second way resize smart object editing in photoshop , use photoshop tools. double clicking on smart object icon in smart object layer in layers palette. when photoshop or acr open embedded smart object in photoshop temp work document in acr raw file current acr settings applied. use tools approbate resize. example if embedded smart object psd file use menu image>image size. check resample size , interpolation. text , vector layers resized using vector graphics or change font size raster layers resized using method set. when commit resize in acr or use menu file>save in photoshop embedded object in smart object layer doubled clicked on update changes made.
