Printing pdf the background color is lost

i created form employment application template-light tan background.

when saved pdf , printed out form background color not present , printed in black , white.

i tried template lots of color , noticed background color when printed lighter on screen. suggestions?

when go print, sure you've turned on color printing printer, clicking "properties" button in reader/acrobat print dialog.  properties dialog comes specific printer, should have option somewhere turn on color printing.
