Thread: Quick question regarding grub

can restore grub1 ubuntu 11.04 live cd?
if yes how, cause "sudo grub" doesn't work
or can use grub 2 fedora 12 , windows 7? think recall fedora need chainloader , it's own grub1 that's 1 that's broken

i tried

code:

sudo mkdir /media/sda5 sudo mount /dev/sda5 /media/sda5 sudo grub-install --root-directory=/media/sda5 /dev/sda

but after last command returns:

/usr/sbin/grub-setup: error: not proceed blocklists.

tried grub1 think , doesn't know command:

code:

sudo grub
