how can undo photo menu option "update dng preview & metadata" in develop module?
i accidentally hit @ point lightroom added "from metadata" entry history file. seemed update preview file (as seen before / after).
i tried undo change, lightroom did remove history items ("from metadata" remained @ top, edit sliders stayed same (even though history being removed) , "before" image permenantly changed.
not resetting image library -> photo -> develop settings -> reset, "update dng preview & metadata" worked.
is way operation delete dng , reimport? it's not if lightroom warns operation cannot undone "read metadata file" command.
i'm using lightroom 3.6 on windows 7 sp 1.
the "before" view not show preview (neither lr's internal preview nor preview image in dng). shows previous version of image, default state of develop settings directly after import.
perhaps accidentally changed before using various "copy/swap settings to/from before/after" commands? can use history , specify history step "before" version using context menu correct that.
edt: think discovered bug there: conversion of raw dng , saving dng preview & metadata changes "before" version current version. report on feedback forum. here is: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lr_4_1_convert_to_dng_and_update_dng _preview_metadata_changes_the_before_version
