my experience far ubuntu has been firefox not on rolling release schedule. if want latest version, need download .deb or install mozilla ppa. google has announced support 2 newest web browser versions beginning august 1, 2011: http://www.ghacks.net/2011/06/02/goo...-old-browsers/
means lts adopters going have out of date web browser within 6 months of release if rolling release isn't adopted ubuntu. why not ship ppa default?
interesting article discusses ppa , underlying problems ubuntu's current update scheme:
http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/05/t...rchive-system/
whats wrong adding ppa... technically have install google's chrome, if don't wish use chromium.
adding ppa pretty easy
Forum The Ubuntu Forum Community Ubuntu Community Discussions The Cafe Firefox PPA should be default for LTS releases
