the topic of audio / video syncing mentioned in forum. usual suspect audio...." gets out of whack".

that fundamental mis-understanding.. it's not audio gets out of whack... it's video!

you can embed video (streaming type) sound main timeline , syncing results provided understand , build on fact vdeo must match , sync audio, not other way around.

for review (from earlier post):

also remember it's animation gets out of sync, not audio.

the reason because audio must play @ 1 , 1 frequency... or in other words, audio have exact length of time takes play sound. if shorten time in attempt match animation, that's sort of pushing sound together, increases frequency , raises pitch... making sound alvin , chipmunks.

on other hand, if streeeeetch out sound on longer period of time, decreasing frequency, looowweer pitch.

so knowing sound must play @ 1 rate (or frequency), you'll need match animation playback speed (frequency) of audio, not other way around.

while it's recommeded not embed video main timeline because of same audio/video syncing problem ("audio gets out of sync"), i've had no problems syncing audio , video long set flash doc frame rate match original video frame rate (29.97 frames per sec mini-dv).

here's example of video embedded directly timeline, yet audio stays in sync.

http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/tutorials/vid_sync/vid_sync.html

now realize may not using video, principle same. match animation audio, not other way around.

this may mean need play document frame rate find sweet spot audio , animation stay in sync. test .swf higher , lower frame rates see effect. may take experimentaion should able improve sync.

so in case, if video origianlly had audio (as many videos do), frames per second of flash document must match of original video or video either ahead of audio or fall behind audio. again, it's video out of sync, not audio.

best wishes,
