hi , new linux user , installed ubuntu through wubi couple of weeks ago , crashed , want install lubuntu live cd , still confused @ partitioning step , want 100% sure of doing , discussed problem in topic , because of bad explaining , didn't answer wanted.
read of ubuntu , gparted partitioning tutorials , think have ground , questions :
- can delete primary partition on 1 of hdd? size of partition unallocated memory or added extended partition ? same question logical partitons.
- if deleted 1 of partitions , , assumed turn unallocated memory , can use make ubuntu partitions , right?
- ,if created ubuntu partitions unallocated memory , format whole hdd?? read changing partition table format hdd.
- instead of making swap partition , can skip in installation , create swap file later? in fact want format primary partition root , , skip making either swap or home partitions.
- can assign fat32 drive home folder without formatting ?

if going use entire disk ubuntu can use guided install option in partitioner.

i don't know, have never heard of using fat32 partition /home. if possible not recommend it.- can assign fat32 drive home folder without formatting ?
