Thread: change to "mount point" entry ??

re: "all variants"
tried in ubuntu & xubuntu, presume same in kubuntu

in earlier post mentioned, in case might relevant:

the strange thing during install when manually allocating partitions unable specify data drives not type in mount point box,
e.g.
in mount point box enter:
/home/data1 etc

booted 11.04 pendrive.
copied hd usb drives , ran life 3 days.
formatted hd, guid (was mbr), setup preferred partitions
i.e. boot, root, home, 3 data partitions plus swap.
tried swap @ start of drive , @ end - same problem.
this happened couple of times ubuntu swap file @ end of drive once swap file first partition.
tried xubuntu, swap moved end of drive, , had same problems mount point box, i.e.
able select "pre-ordained" entry - not type in selection box add my personal file systems.

why this?
have been changed? works differently 10.10.
why has been changed? needed , worked great !

this not planned change in install, bug found late fixed final pull.

ability type in own mount points return.

have been suggesting folks make copy of /etc/fstab file before install, , copying additional mount points form copy new /etc/fstab.
