Hard To Believe There Was Once a Raw vs. JPEG Debate

there time when folks debated whether shoot raw vs. setting cameras conversions internally , deliver jpegs. not many years ago!

now it's easy bring shadow detail, tame blown highlights, remove color fringing, better color, and keep results looking pleasing , natural...

what strikes me how far camera raw (also lightroom) has come in such short time, reasonable debate @ 1 time no-brainer: current version of photoshop , camera made in last decade silly not shoot raw.

time jpeg images looked more natural "pushed" images tried more out of shadows. before recent advances, highlight recovery pretty iffy.

now it's opposite - adeptly processed raw images using modern facilities shadow , highlight recovery bring data didn't know had, , @ same time end looking more natural in-camera jpeg counterparts, when extreme adjustments used!
