Thread: Copying distro to another drive


i have plug ide drive same size normal hdd , tried make bootable copy using dd can ready should new natty instal fails.
copy hdd boot long normal hdd there, won't boot if disconnect main hdd. get: error: out of disk. grub rescue. cannot make sense of grib menu either.

boot info script (can't recall how attach it) show not right boot sector info - "core.img cannot found @ location"

system: desktop amd dual 5200 cpu, 2g ram, geforce n439gt graphics.
hdd: sata 160g , ide 160g removable.
distro: maverick

hints?

good idea post output of boot info script here. seems there no grub installed on plug ide hdd (if saying right )
