my son bought lightroom 4 student edition, provided school id , received serial number. had upgrade our microsoft compatible, had other computer problems, driver still won't recognize installation cd has been inserted. still computer problem or defective cd?
my answer won't actual problem (which can resolved pc manufacturer's or adobe's support), in meantime: download lightroom 4.1 update adobe (downloads -> product updates -> lightroom - windows -> lightroom 4.1), should anyway (because on cds still lr 4.0 afaik). update same full version , not require original installation disk. after installation, should accept serial number (which stays valid later updates, too).
