Problem with menu bar

i trying make menu more balanced .

i have created 5 pages far . home / me /photos/web design/contact me

i know how resize text not actual " boxes" in . giving me unbanlanced menu bar .

i able resize box/button size looks equally displayed .

not have lot of space between home , me , little space between web design , contact me .

is there way ?

the option available @ moment set properties menu "fit width" item size , increase gutter. please have @ following screenshot here

white space space between items, think looking for. did not remove background color can see better , height of menu items exagerated again make easier observe gutter. if removed background color menu items @ same distance 1 harder observe fact.
