on hard drive manager picked recommended nvidia driver
on restart system choked.

says
gave waiting root device. common problems
boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
check rootdelay=(did system wait long enough?)
check root=(did system wait right device?)
missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev)
