Thread: Keyboard freezes sometimes

hello all,

accept apology if has been resolved in other thread.

have dell inspiron 1545, , running 11.04. problem existed on 10.10 well.

sometimes, when switching between applications, keyboard gets inactive. can select type something, no character shows when type. work around, have switch other application, type there , come original application keys working again.

happens on terminal application many times (and work around, open new tab, type there , come original tab),

happens lot on eclipse, specially when eclipse suggests auto-complete codes - example, working on sample android sdk , type, class name, eclipse suggest package imported - , then, keyboard goes dead on me. have open file on eclipse, edit there , come back.

happens lot of libreoffice (or openoffice in 10.10) - same work around helped me.

but, does not happen on emacs!

so, might gnome issue, no? don't know why not happen in emacs (unless co-incident).

soooo annoying think of throwing out laptop - again, don't have other laptop - pull hair...

save hair! please!

btw: sort of driver updates should try - if helps
