Thread: Cannot resume from suspend, reboots instead

hello,

i'm sure has answer somewhere here, after 2 days of searching, cannot find it.

desktop computer (home built, intel piv 1.66ghz dual core / 2gb / 1tb / nvidia graphics) can hibernate , resume hibernation fine. however, when choose suspend, suspends correctly (as per log)
/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/99video suspend suspend: success.
sun may 29 22:33:32 ist 2011: performing suspend
cannot resume correctly.

when type on keyboard, or shake mouse, nothing happens. (both usb, usb legacy enabled in bios).

when press power button, seems come life (power led comes on) there long pause (about 90 seconds) , seems reboot. file system clean on reboot (ie, no disk check). there no "thawing" entry in suspend log.

have tried "acpi_sleep=nonvs" kernel parameter tweak, no result (same problem remains).

please point out if have come across solution.

tech level: intermediate-high, please let me know if need more information, such entire suspend log.

bump @ original posters request.
