i've set virtualbox host xp guest. have dhcp enabled in virtualbox settings. when start xp in virtualbox, internal dhcp server should assign internal network (vboxnet0) ip address. doesn't. 'ifconfig -a' shows no 'inet addr' , cannot access vboxnet0 virtualbox network xp guest os. i've tried using vboxmanage cli enable dhcp too. doesn't work.
workaround follows: when starting virtualbox first time in session, select 'file>preferences>network , edit host network disable dhcp server. click ok>ok close dialogs. repeat process enable dhcp server again. time dhcp enabled , network ip available. in terminal, can confirm 'ifconfig -a.'
doing '--disable' followed '--enable' vboxmanage cli may work. haven't tested this.
i'm new ubuntu may missing something, looks bug me.
