first natty , ubuntu studio same thing? if not i'm having problem ubuntu studio. digress

first off i'm beginner started using linux week ago. (and had reinstall , windows because formatted windows wrong i've been using , learning 3 days)

i've been trying install studio several times. problem has come every time when comes choosing , selecting software install crashes. , says part doesn't work, installs base system can use alt+ctrl+ f1-6 terminals different things (mostly little guess work , limited commands,) f7 doesn't give me gui ( used "apt-get install gnome" able gui) else installed , worked, when got step installs software, desktop , other things failed work.

i'm on laptop. i'm connected internet via lan, have formatted ext4 (or whatever) logical partition (20 gb) root, i'm sharing /home partition of 60gb ubuntu distro (pinguy). specs sufficient, clean installed pinguy, nothing hardware should problem.

i'm boot installing flash drive. used unetbootin put on. downloaded torrent. i'm sure isn't problem. (i might download again grr.) of information useless, if need else ask, thank help.

studio on of ubuntu versions witch come wit multimedia software,so same standard ubuntu except multimedia software.can connect internet?if in synaptic>repositories> check under ubuntu software , first 2 under updates tab.reload , should have repos need.you can try
