Thread: Ubuntu 10.10 nvidia with benq . I have been defeated

i have spent last 10 hours trying fix no avail. in tears.....

have loaded 10.10 have nvidia geforce 8800 gts 512 , benq fp202w.

stuck screen resolution of 640 x 480. nothing let me change that. don't know if proprietary nvidia drives not see monitor or if monitor not telling right info. either way don't know can fix this.

have edited xorg.conf no avail (many different times)
loaded different drivers


if can point me have used please feel free other going go drink myself silly becuase feel totally defeated right , want 10 hours of life back.

if desktop computer, have on-board svga use right instead? , change supported nvidia card later on?
