apologize if posted on wrong forum.
bought old server , didn't come documentations, hard disk drives nor anything. thing found out seems have sparc cpu (not sure how check) , it's still using ide hdd connection.
bought hdd , used dd copy ubuntu 10.04 lts sparc iso found online didn't anything.
know need install ubuntu on server?

all sun hardware has tags model & serial numbers. best start there , figure out have first.
download appropriate manuals on-line , read them.
sparc hardware different intel/amd based servers
read on openboot.
post can't tell if have hard drive or cd/dvd. figure out hardware first.
not plug & play install. part of learning curve.
attached cookbook recorded installing ubuntu sparc workstation.
