JQuery Cycle issue with IE9

i'm in process of reworking old website , wanting insert jquery cycle slide show cs6 dw widget browser.  slide show looks beautiful on browsers except, guessed it, internet explorer.

 

here's deal, when loaded on ie9 images overlap text in adjacent div.  have same issue on site whereby images drop on div located below.  again, happens on ie9, other browsers work beautifully.  yes, adding padding widget div temp fix, creates new issue adding blank space on agreeable browsers.

 

suggestions?

if temp fix helps, can apply ie9 via ie conditional comment.
